About
The fastest growing religious affiliation in the U.S. is “none.” But nones are not evenly distributed among generations - younger people are significantly more likely to not belong to any religion than baby boomers, aka their parents.
This project is focused on the large wave of millennials who grew up in a religious tradition, then left. Why is it happening? What happens next? What’s taking the place of religion?
These are the stories of some of the leavers, in their own words.
These interviews were conducted, edited, and illustrated by Beth Beckman.
